Rashid Irani

Rashid Irani is a Mumbai-based film critic for the last 20 years. A gradute of Bombay University,he was involved in the film society movement during the 1960s and ' 70s. He played a pivotal role in the formation of the film study group
"Friends of the Archive", for which he also compiled the programme notes. He was also in charge of the
"Cine Club of Alliance Francaise de Bombay", selecting films for thier weekly screenings for over a decade. His film reviews/articles appeared regularly in The Times of India,Bombay from 1988 to 2005. Subsequently (2005-2007), his weekly column was published in DNA,Mumbai. Currently, he is the freelance foriegn film critic for The Hindustan Times, Mumbai.
SELECTION COMMITTEEAnand Sukumaran has an MBBS degree and has worked in the medical sector namely Emergency medicine for five years. He also has a postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management from the T A Pai Institute, Manipal, following which he taught at the Institute of Management Development and Research, Pune for nearly ten years. He has taught subjects ranging from Theory of Communication and Human Resource Management to the Philosophy of Science and Technology. He has taught courses at the National Institute of Design, too, both in Ahmedabad and Bangalore.
He has worked as an organisational consultant, mainly in the areas of Competency Mapping, Behavioural Event Interviewing, Assessment centre design and implementation, and Organisational Development interventions. He is currently freelancing as an organisational consultant and management teacher.
His appetite for books compares only to his love for films, music, and food. He likes to think of himself as a Falstaffian figure who enjoys with the keenest relish all that is served. He likes the films of Kurosawa, Istvan Szabo, and Ridley Scott amongst others. He recently co-produced and directed a short feature film in the DV format called 'Darmiyan'.
