Pune Film Foundation

Pune Film Foundation is founded to promote the exhibition of National and International films of unique nature, to run programs every year related to films, film awards and documentaries. To compliment the main objective started to organize International Film Festival, with an idea of attracting the best in celluloid to Pune.

Pune typically like a growing cosmopolitan, Pune has seen it all. From, the now nostalgic theatres to sprawling expanses of multiplexes and crowded shops to the numerous malls, the evolution of this multi-hued city has been spectacular. For the film buffs of the city and India, Pune enjoys significance. On occasions pertaining to the industry, stars from all the verticals descend on this city. With a multi-cultural blend of population with varied interests, Pune provides an ideal platform for an International Film Festival.

The Pune Film foundation has been organizing every year The Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) jointly with Government of Maharashtra.

Pune International Film Festival has witnessed growing popularity and an overwhelming response. Youngsters as well as senior citizens are avid fans of PIFF. The recently held 9th PIFF was a grand success. In addition to screening films Pune Film Foundation would like to create platforms for discussions, net working, film events and workshops. We would like to be part of the universal creative exchange of ideas and forge collaboration with other film entities across the world.

The Pune Film Foundation is taking lead to promote cinema in various categories. We are also supporting other Film Festivals across India through the communication. The Pune Film Foundation activities giving chance to be exposed to the best of world cinema- to know, understand and absorb the finer nuances of not just how cinema is constantly in state of evolution but also a gateway to peeping into the cultures and socio-political arenas of other countries.

The Pune Film Foundation have association with Directorate Film Festivals – Delhi, Cultural Department - Government of Maharashtra, Pune Municipal corporation, National film Archive of India, Film and Television Institute of India, Max Muller Bhavan, Japan Foundation, Alliance Francaise, Whistling Woods International – Mumbai, Film Division, Government of India, National Film Division & Corporation and various Embassies and Consulates in India.
